This is basically a test to see if this is anything the AF Board could use.  It is a blog site, kind of like a group text page that is able to be archived.  Though it is on the AFMemphis site, this page is restricted to "members" that are listed.  If you are seeing this, you were invited and created a password to get in.  If it is not usable for the board, I will delete it and the member logins.  Thanks.

I Left this as a "comment", including an article from a previous LPJ, just to test how it would work for longer documents.

For instance, you might want to use it to post the AFM Board Meeting minutes, or financial updates, or membership updates.

'Visitors to Versailles' at
Metropolitan Museum of Art
April 16 - July 29
Have you ever wondered what it was like to have been a visitor to the French court at its zenith? Would you be interested in exploring the glories of Versailles without enduring TSA lines or jetlag? If you answer "yes," then you should head to The Metropolitan Museum of Art before July 29 to experience "Visitors to Versailles 1682-1789."
The concept of this exhibit comes from the collection of letters and diaries of visitors to Versailles between 1682, when Louis XIV moved his court into what had been a royal hunting lodge, to 1789 when Louis XVI was forced to leave that magnificent palace and return to Paris.
Initially, curators at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Palace of Versailles considered publishing these collected accounts by visitors from France and around the world in a book. But then they began to imagine an immersive exhibit experience that would step beyond a typical gallery filled with static displays and narrated by a traditional audio guide.
The curators have created a series of galleries evoking both interior and exterior spaces at Versailles and filled them with decorative art and furnishings from the palace, gifts to the King from the visiting dignitaries, and personal items, including elaborate costumes, belonging to the visitors and to the members of the court. The visual joy of the exhibit is enhanced by head phones which provide a soundtrack with an introduction and 10 short scenes featuring sound effects, music, and audio performances by a dozen actors based on excerpts from the collected letters and diaries. The overall effect is an engaging, multi sensory impression of what it was like to pay call on French royalty in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The format is comfortable. This “blog”gives us a contrasting means for le comité, different from email & Le Petit Journal, a colorful, highly anticipated newsletter for entire membership.
I’m sorry to report that my personal blog got an injection of malware. My only option was to pay more money for special servicing after Hostgator’s “Security” would fix the problem. After seven years and copying all my essays and pictures onto my hard drive, I have quit my blogging. I cannot get into it to administrate on my dashboard. I guess my blog is just sitting there. So, I’m over my faith in Wordpress, and certainly hope that this effort on behalf of AF isn’t more trouble than it’s worth.
